David A. "Skeeter" Rothermel, 64, of Tamaqua, died Thursday, Aug. 8, in St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale.
Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Donald and Lucille (Templin) Rothermel.
He was a graduate of Lehighton High School.
He was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army and a veteran of the Vietnam War.
He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, riding motorcycles, and making people laugh.
Surviving is a daughter, Autumn, and her husband, Norman A. Frey III of Lehighton; a son, John Brooking, of Palmerton; a sister, Gail (Rothermel) Kocker, wife of Larry, of Lehighton; a brother, Keith "Skip" Rothermel, and his wife, Tina, of Lehighton, two grandchildren, and one on the way; a niece and two nephews.
Service: A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
