David Ramsay, 84, of 108 West Highland Lane, Lehighton, passed away Friday, Nov. 9, in his residence. He was the husband of Euphemia W. (Panton) Ramsay. They were married for 62 years on Sept. 23.|
Born in Dundee, Scotland, he was a son of the late David and Mary (Keith) Ramsay.
He was a veteran of the British Army.
He graduated from Dundee College, Scotland, with a degree in electrical engineering and worked as an electrical engineer for the Bechtel Corporation, where he was a member of IBEW Local 375 Allentown.
He also taught electrical engineering at the Lehigh County Community College.
He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Lehighton, where was a member of the Holy Name Society, served as president of the school PTO and was also actively involved with the SAA.
Socially, he was an active member of the Lehighton Orioles Nest No. 183, and held a life membership in the Lehigh Fire Co. No. 1, Lehighton.
Years ago, he was an avid outdoorsman and spent extra time hunting and fishing.
Surviving in addition to his widow are two sons, David of Lehighton and Keith F., and his wife, Delores, of Jim Thorpe; two daughters, Valerie M., wife of Joseph P. Lencovich III of Weatherly, and Catherine A. of Nescopeck; a sister, Evelyn McDonald of Dundee; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a niece and a nephew.
Service: Prayers will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, Andrew P. Ovsak Funeral Home, Fourth and Iron streets, Lehighton; Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m., SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Lehighton, with the Rev. Michael E. Ahrensfield officiating. Interment, parish cemetery, Lehighton. Call 8:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
