Denise M. Jacobs, 43, of 70 E. Railroad St., Nesquehoning, Pa., formerly of Lehighton, passed away Sept. 6, 2012, in Tunkhannock Township, Monroe County. She was the wife of Edward V. Jacobs. They were married on Nov. 12 of last year.
Born in Lehighton, she was a daughter of Dorothy M. Castagnola Shupp Moyer of Lehigh-ton and the late Marlin P. Shupp and the step-daughter of the late Arthur "Fuzzy" Moyer.
She was a Lehighton Area High School graduate, class of 1986 and Carbon County Vo-Tech where she majored in electronics. She was currently employed as a utility worker at Blue Ridge Pressure Castings, Lehighton.
She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, Lehighton, The UAW local 1098 and for several years served as a Team Mom for Notre Dame Football with the Lehighton Area Booster Club. She also belonged to the Lehigh River Stocking Association.
Surviving in addition to her husband, and mother, is a maternal grandmother, Dorothy Snyder of Lehighton, a son, Brian D. White Jr. of Lehighton; a daughter, Sheena M. White of West Chester State University; a sister, Deborah L., wife of Kevin Rex of Lehigh-ton; two brothers, Marlin P. Shupp Jr. and his wife, Chelann of New York; Matthew G. Shupp and his wife, Marion of Redford, Michigan; two step-sons, Joshua and Chad Jacobs; and nieces and nephews.
Services: Prayers will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. Sept. 11 at The Ovsak Funeral Home, 190 S. Fourth St. Lehighton, followed by a memorial Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at Ss. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, 242 N. Third St., Lehighton, with the Rev. Michael E. Ahrensfield officiating. Call 8-9:30 a.m. Tuesday. at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
