Edward W. Paperman, 65, of Hometown, died Friday, June 15, in the Hospital of The University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, where he was a patient for several months. He was the husband of Peggy Paperman. |
The deceased was a son of the late Georgine (Kaplan) Paperman and Barney Paperman.Surviving in addition to his widow are two stepdaughters, Marni Reid and Cara Lombardo; two grandchildren, Rose Reid and Lance Price; a sister Susan, wife of Roger Miller of Brockton; his mother-in-law, Rose Mulhern of Hometown; a sister-in-law, Carol Flynn of Wilkes Barre; a brother-in-law, Paul Mulhern of Tamaqua; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
- He was the owner of We R Cigarettes, Tamaqua.
He was also preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and a sister Margaret, who died at birth.
Ed was well-known in the area for his involvement in the community. He was an active member of the Chamber of Commerce, American Hose Company, American Legion and the Elks.
An avid sports fan, he was a coach and referee for the CYO and wrote a sports column for the Evening Courier/Times News.
A 1964 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School, he attended Penn State University and was a graduate of McCann School of Business.
All who knew Ed will miss his sparkling personality and spontaneous sense of humor.
