Ernest E. Eaches Ernest E. Eaches, 77, of Packerton, passed away on Monday, Aug. 24, in the Blue Mountain Health System's Gnaden Huetten Campus, Lehighton. He was the devoted husband of Pearlene (Hosier) Eaches for 30 years. He was a well-known and respected carpenter in the Lehighton area for many years.Born in Lehighton, he was a son of the late John and Sarah (Hosier) Eaches.He was of the Christian faith.Eaches was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served from 1949-52 with the 11th Airborne Paratroopers. He served in the National Guard from 1952-57 with the 165th Military Police Battalion.The deceased belonged to the American Legion Post 314, Lehighton; Beaver Run Pistol Team; and the Mahoning Township Municipal Authority.He was an avid hunter and fisherman.Surviving in addition to his widow are a son John, and his companion, Cynthia Schmidt, of Carbondale; a daughter Donna, wife of James Fogel of Northampton; a brother Charles, and his wife, Evelyn, of Slatington; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, a niece and a nephew. Service: Funeral service with military honors 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, Schaeffer Funeral Home, Third and Alum streets, Lehighton. Private interment at convenience of family. Pearlene-I am so saddend by Ernie's passing it is a great loss. He was such a caring & loving person, the world was a much brighter place with Ernie in it!!! We who knew him know we lost some of our beams of light !!He sure was your Guiding Light. His smile and wit would pick you up on your worst day!!So much fun so deeply missed. He was great with eggs on VAC. He had a great toss...May God Bless you and give you strenght to carry on! Missed but never forgotten. OXOXOXO MONICA&BILL

Pearlene & Family,

I remember, the stories you and Ernie told us at last year's Beaver Run Pistol Banquet about your fishing trip and the also the trip to the hospital because of a little creature.
