Mrs. Eva B. Derkosh|
Mrs. Eva B. Derkosh, 91, a resident of Mifflin Court, Shillington, passed way peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 22. She was the widow of Andrew Derkosh. They had been married for 52 years.
She was formerly from New Ringgold, she lived in Quakertown and Coopersburg.
A member of St. John Lutheran Church, Quakertown, she was especially proud of her upbringing as one of nine children on a self-sufficient farm. Her memories and the stories she told were always about hard work and fun times that went with that life.She enjoyed preparing many of the ethnic foods of Czechoslovakia, from where her family emigrated, and loved spending time with her family, especially the children. She will always be remembered for her gentle spirit and warm smile and will be deeply missed.
- She had moved into assisted living at Mifflin Court five years ago.
Surviving are a daughter Barbara, wife of Russ Scaramastra of Wyomissing; four grandchildren, Matthew Scaramastra of Syracuse, N.Y., Allana Scaramastra of Sinking Spring, Jason Derkosh of Pittsburgh and Janel Derkosh of Mansfield, Conn.; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Andrew David; and a great-grandchild.
Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, Zizelmann-Roche Funeral Home, 500 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, with Michael Sullivan, M. Div., officiating. Interment, Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown.
