Everett F. Kaul
Everett F. "Buddy" Kaul, 84, of Walnutport, died Saturday, Dec. 28, in the Inpatient Hospice Unit of the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Marilyn E. (Lewis) Kaul. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last June.
He retired from ConAgra, formerly known as Beatrice Cheese, and Lehigh Valley Dairy, as a purchasing agent for the Allentown plant.
Born in Walnutport, he was a son of the late Everett C. and Dora A. (Snyder) Kaul.
He was a 1947 graduate of the former Slatington High School.
Kaul served in the Army during the Korean War.
Buddy was active in the restoration of the Walnutport section of the Lehigh Canal in 1953, and served as the president of the Walnutport Canal Association, Inc., since February 1995.
He was a life member of the NRA and a former member of Blue Ridge Rod & Gun Club.
He worshipped at St. John United Church of Christ, Slatington.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a son, David K. of Lehigh Township; a daughter, Rebecca R., wife of Duane Haas of Slatington; three grandchildren, Allen E. Haas, and his fiancée, Courtney Grym, of York, and Clinton L. and Amy E. Haas, both of Slatington; a brother James, and his wife, Judy, of Allentown; and two sisters, Dorothy, wife of Maurice Keiser, and Loretta Newhard, both of Walnutport.
Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, Harding Funeral Home 25-27 N. Second St, Slatington. Interment, Union Cemetery, Slatington. Call 9:30-11a..m. Thursday. Contributions in his name may be made to the Walnutport Canal Association, Inc. c/o the funeral home, 18080.
