Mrs. Harriet R. Postupack passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in Stockton, Calif., surrounded by her family.
Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Harriet Houser.
She grew up in Tamaqua, where she met and married her husband of 49 years, Eugene Postupack, in 1962. He died in December.After the birth of their two daughters, they moved to California in 1966, and relocated to Stockton in 1973, where she started a career with the Department of Corrections.
Settling in Lemoore, Calif., in 1987, she retired as a baker for Avenal State Prison and was on the bargaining committee for the union.
She spent many years enjoying the B.P.O. Elks Lodge, the Tuleburg Travelers RV Group, Iris and Emblem Club of Stockton, and, in recent years, bowling alongside her husband in the Senior's Bowling League of Hanford.
Most of all, she adored traveling with her husband and spending time with her family.
Surviving are two daughters, Janice, wife of Kelly Sain, and Sondra, wife of Larry Ryan, two grandchildren, Shawna Ryan and Anthony Sain, and a great-grandson, Khalid Jeffery Lanier, all of Stockton.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffery Ryan.
Service: Memorial service to celebrate her life 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, First Baptist Church of Stockton, 3535 N. El Dorado St., Stockton, Calif. Contributions in her name may be made to the Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Ave., Stockton, Calif. 95207.
