Harvey W. Heckman Obituary
Harvey W. Heckman, 86, of Moore Township, passed away on Monday, Oct. 8, in the St. Luke Hospital, Fountain Hill, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Arlene M. (Miller) Heckman, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage on Aug. 16.
He was employed by C.F. Martin & Co., Inc., Nazareth, for 21 years before retiring in 1994.
Previously, he worked for the Lehigh and New England Railroad for 20 years.Born in Nazareth, he was a son of the late Thomas and Agnes (Stout) Heckman.
He was a 1944 graduate of Nazareth High School.
Heckman was a faithful and active, long-time member of the Covenant United Methodist Church, where he served in various capacities and was involved in many activities at the church. Additionally, he served as a former Boy Scout leader.
He enjoyed woodworking and was known for his handcrafted ducks, among many other works of art.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife, Arlene, are a daughter, Renee D., wife of Paul Meserole of North Wales; a son, Rodney D., and his wife, Robin, of Lehighton; two grandchildren, Evy and Brock; a brother Sterling, and his wife, Grace, of Bath; and three sisters, Bertha Fehnel of Bath, Carol, wife of Wayne Kostenbader of Bethlehem, and Janet, wife of Francis Minnich of Easton.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, LeRoy, Raymond and Marvin; and a sister, Virginia Graver.
Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, Covenant United Methodist Church, Bath (Klecknersville). Interment, Green Mount Cemetery, Bath. Call 6-8 p.m. Friday and 10-11 a.m. Saturday, both in the church. Arrangements by George G. Bensing Funeral Home, Village of Moorestown, Bath. Contributions in his name may be made to the church, 2715 Mountain View Dr., Bath, Pa. 18014.
