Mrs. Helen M. (Yelito) Kovatch, 81, of 440 Lake Drive in the Lake Hauto section of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 20, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, surrounded by her loving family.

They had been married for 63 years. The marriage will continute as they are reunited for eternal life. Romantically, Helen's passing was on Sonny's birthday.Born in Lansford, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Scepanjik) Yelito.
- She was the widow of John "Sonny" Kovatch, who died in 2011.
She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Nesquehoning.
John J. Kovatch II, CEO, stated, "Our mother was a huge part in the success of the Kovatch businesses. Her never-ending love and dedication to our father gave him the strength and the passion to strive for the best for his family and our community.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Helen leaves behind a wonderful family, including her five children, John J. III, and his wife, Sharon, of Lake Hauto, Marianne, wife of Ivan Meixell of Lehighton, Jane, wife of George Beury of Nesquehoning, Judy Kovatch-Lebo of Lake Hauto and Kathy, wife of Ric Reaman of Nesquehoning; a brother, Casey Yelito of Nesquehoning; a sister Genevieve, wife of John Terefinko of Bethlehem; 11 grandchildren, Stacey, wife of Alex Schaefer, Josh Beury, Lisa Beury, and her fiancé, Garrett Russo, John J. Kovatch IV, and his wife, Ashley, Derek, Zackary and Alex Lebo and Emily, Lauren, Megan and Andrew Reaman; two great-grandchildren, Morgan Schaefer and John J. Kovatch V; and her beloved cat Sammy.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John and Stanley Yelito.
Services: Public calling hours 6-8 o'clock tonight, Bruce A. Nalesnik Funeral Home, 57 W. Center St., Nesquehoning, followed by private funeral service. Interment, Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown.
Contributions: Helen actively supported the John J. "Sonny" Kovatch Scholarship Fund, which was created to assist employees, and children and grandchildren, in furthering themselves with an education at a college or trade school. The scholarship fund also focuses on community service, and seeks to reward those who work to advance their local communities.
