Howard E. Strohl|
Howard E. Strohl, 87, of Lehigh Township, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 18, in his residence. He was the husband of Kathryn P. (Borger) Strohl, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage on July 17.
He was a carpenter and cabinetmaker for more than 40 years, before retiring from Muhlenberg College, Allentown, where he served as the shop foreman for 22 years.
He honorably served in the U.S. Army during World War II.Strohl was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church, Cherryville, and the Oplinger-Hower American Legion Post 899, Danielsville.
- Born in Lehighton, he was a son of the late John J. and Lillie (Green) Strohl.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife, Kathryn, are a daughter, Linda L., wife of Thomas Sidor of Cherryville; two grandchildren, Thomas Sidor, and his wife, Cici of Raleigh, N.C., and Jillian, wife of Jeffrey Powers of Apex, N.C.; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his 15 siblings.
Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, Hope Lutheran Church, Cherryville. Interment with military honors, New Hope Cemetery at Little Moore, Danielsville. Call 9:30-11 a.m. Thursday in the church. Arrangements by George G. Bensing Funeral Home, Moorestown-Bath.
