James R. Knappenberger|
James R. Knappenberger, 69, of Mount Wolf, York County, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, July 4, in his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Diane (Brunner) Knappenberger, whom he married 48 years ago on Jan. 9, 1965.
Born in Altoona, he was a son of the late James P. and Arleen (Mattern) Knappenberger.
He was a 1961 graduate of Lehighton High School and a 1967 graduate of Penn State University.
He remained an avid PSU fan.
Surviving in addition to his widow are two sons, James M., and his wife, Jamie, and Jeffrey S., and his wife, Heather, both of Mount Wolf; four grandchildren, James A., Jensen L., Zachary A. and Parker F.; and two sisters, Martha Louise Connor of Lehighton and Rae Ann Erickson of Philipsburg.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Wendy Jane.
