Josephine Shober, 92, of Krochs Road, Allentown, formerly of Lansford, died Monday in Allentown. She was the wife of John Shober.|
Prior to retiring, she had been employed as the PPL Consumer Affairs Director in Hazleton. She began her career at PPL as a Home Economist, after working for the Prudential Insurance Company, as an agent, during World War II.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Dr. John J. and Josephine (Tracy) Quinn.
A member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Summit Hill, she had been a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Lansford, until its closing.
A graduate of the former St. Ann's School, she earned a bachelor of arts degree from Immaculata College.
Founder and past president of the Lansford Business and Professional Women, she was also a past president of the Immaculata College Historical Society and a member of the Catholic Women of St. Ann's.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a brother, Atty. William B. Quinn of Jim Thorpe; and a sister, Celestine Trainer in Maryland.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, the Rev. Dr. John J. Quinn, Society of Jesus, and Thomas Quinn.
Service: Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m., Saturday, St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Summit Hill, with the Revs. James Burdess and Stephen Halabura officiating.
