Obituary Condolences

Karl M. Lochner, 68 of South Avenue, Jim Thorpe, died Monday, Dec. 3, in the Weatherwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Weatherly.
He retired from the U.S. Post Office, Jim Thorpe, in 1999 after 34 years of service.
Born in Mauch Chunk, he was a son of the late Elmer O. and Mary Lavina (Murphy) Lochner.
He was a 1962 graduate of Jim Thorpe Area High School and a 1966 graduate of the Bethlehem Business School.
Lochner was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He served in the Philippines and attained the rank of sergeant.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in the Heights section of Jim Thorpe, and also belonged to American Legion Post 304, Jim Thorpe.
Surviving are four sisters, Lavina Vivian, wife of David Williams of Jim Thorpe, Dolores Lapham of Painted Post, N.Y., Barbara Rehrig of Ashfield and Romayne Lochner of Mountain Top; and 13 nieces and nephews.
Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, St. John Lutheran Church, Jim Thorpe, with the Rev. F. Peter Muhr officiating. Interment, Mauch Chunk Cemetery, Jim Thorpe. Call 10-11 a.m. Thursday. Arrangements by Edward F. Melber Funeral Home, 524 Center St., Jim Thorpe. Contributions in his name may be made to the Organ Renovation Fund of the church, 319 South Ave., Jim Thorpe, Pa. 18229.
