Luigino A. "Louie" Brida, 81, of 116 E. Phillips St., Coaldale, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at his residence. He was the husband of Bernice (Blichar) Brida of Coaldale. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this past June.

He was a graduate of St. Mary High School in Coaldale, class of 1949. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1954 and went on to the reserves.
- Born in Coaldale, he was the son of the late Albert and Pia (Tomasi) Brida.
He was a bus driver for the Panther Valley School District. He was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Roman Catholic Church, Lansford.
Surviving are sons, Michael A. Brida, of Coaldale, Duane Brida, and his wife, Eileen, of Bethlehem, and Ronald Brida, and his wife, Jennifer of Landisville, Lancaster County; daughters, Luanne Brida, of Coaldale, and Kim Lawrence, and her husband, Joseph, of Jim Thorpe; grandchildren, Justin Roberts, Kristin Lawrence, Kyle Lawrence, and Colleen Brida; a sister, Jean Papinsick, of Summit Hill; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Brida.
Service: is Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. from the Skrabak-Parambo Funeral Home, 210 E. Bertsch St., Lansford; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Katharine Drexel Roman Catholic Church, Lansford. Military interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Summit Hill. Calling hours are on Friday from 6-8 p.m., and Saturday from 10-10:30 a.m.
