Mrs. Mabel M. Koehler, 97, of Fairview Street, Weatherly, passed away from this life to the life eternal on Thursday, Jan. 24, in the Blue Mountain Health System's Gnaden Huetten Campus, Lehighton. |
All those who knew Mabel enjoyed her very much, from her little sayings to her quick witt.A homemaker, she had worked at the former Burlinger Silk Mill, Weatherly.
- She was the widow of Theodore "Puppy" Koehler, who died Sept. 19, 1987.
She was a member of Salem U.C.C., Weatherly.
She enjoyed find-a-word crossword puzzles, and playing rummy with family. Her passion was candy.
Born in Mt. Carmel, she was a daughter of the late George and Harriet (Frye) Deeble.
Surviving are a daughter, Beverly E. Moser of Lehighton; a stepson, Theodore Koehler, and his wife, Ruth, in Michigan; two grandchildren, Lori A. (Knepper) O'Donnell and Alan D. Knepper Sr., both of Weatherly; three stepgrandchildren, Ron Koehler, and his wife, Mary, in New Mexico, Brian Koehler, and his wife, Cassie, in Florida, and Kim, wife of John Tish in Ohio; a great-grandson, Alan "A.J." Knepper Jr.; seven stepgreat-grandchildren, Rob, Frank, Kurt and Heidi Koehler and Matt, Mike and Madison Tish.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, George, Lee, Warren and Elmore; and a stepgrandson, Cpl. Gary Koehler, who was killed in action during the Iraq War in 2006.
