Mrs. Maria Sparich
Mrs. Maria Sparich, 82, of Lehighton, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, in the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton. She was the widow of Nicholas M. Sparich Sr., who died Feb. 14, 2012.
Prior to retiring, she was a sewing machine operator in Nesquehoning and Lansford.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Magdalen (Nauratil) Dardas.
She was a former member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Nesquehoning.
She was a faithful, loving wife and mother, and will be deeply missed.
Surviving are two sons, Nicholas M. Jr. Lehighton and Ernest of Kutztown; a daughter, Christina M. in Massachusetts; two brothers, Thomas, and his wife, Cynthia, in Texas, and James, and his wife, Nancy, of Pottstown; a sister-in-law, Barbara Dardas of Coaldale; and nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by a brother Joseph; and a sister, Sally Alonge.
Service: Funeral service 10 a.m. Friday, May 20, Ovsak Funeral Home, 190 S. Fourth St., Lehighton, with the Rev. Michael E. Ahrensfield officiating. Interment, private. Call 8:30-10 a.m. Friday.
