Michael M. Zuber Jr., 62, of Summit Hill, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon at Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg.
Michael was born in Coaldale on July 13, 1950.
He was the son of the late Marie E. (Juracka) and Michael M. Zuber Sr.
Michael was a graduate of Panther Valley High School, Class of 1967. He received a bachelor of science in education from Penn State University and master's degree in counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Before retiring he worked for Social Security in various administrative roles.
He was a member of St. Katherine Drexel Church and the church Choir; Bach and Handel Chorale, Jim Thorpe; social member of Flying Aces Motorcycle Club, Rockport; lifetime member of AMA, ABATE of PA; lifetime member of HOG; and the Penn State Alumni Association.
In addition to being an accomplished musician, he enjoyed riding his Harley, woodworking, and gardening.
Michael is survived by a sister, Catherine, wife of Thomas Knepper, Columbus, MS.; nephew Greg Knepper, Kent, WA.; niece Alexis Knepper, Columbus, MS.; uncle Frank Juracka, Summit Hill; and several cousins.
Service: Family and friends may call Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the Shawn E. Clark Funeral Home, 200 E. Bertsch St, Lansford, and Saturday from 10 a.m. at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Katherine Drexel Roman Catholic Church, Lansford, with Rev. Kenneth Medve officiating.
Burial with will take place immediately following services at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery, Nesquehoning.
