Obituary Condolences

Nancianne Straub Metz, 59, of Weissport went home to her heavenly father, Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012. Nancianne was the daughter of Marion (Waltz) Straub of Weissport and the late Kenneth W. Straub Jr.
Born into a musical family, Nancianne began her musical career at the age of 5 studying voice and piano with Edith A. Foley of Lehighton.
She was very active in her school music program and was a graduate of Lehighton High School Class of 1971. She graduated from Mansfield State College in PA in 1975. She later studied in Europe to further her education.
Her five years in college earned her two degrees in voice and piano. While at college, she was organist at the Catholic Church in Mansfield. After graduation she taught in the public schools in the Panther Valley Area and the St. John Neumann Schools in Palmerton and Slatington.
Nancianne was an organist at St. John's Towamensing Lutheran Church in Palmerton for many years. She also was organist at Lower Saucon U.C.C. Church in Hellertown for 10 years. Nancianne was also the present organist at St. Peter's U.C.C. Church in Seemsville for the past eight years. Nancianne ventured into the theatrical and stage extension of her career and was accompanist and musical director for the Pa. Youth Theater in Bethlehem, the MORA Men's Group, of Bethlehem, and performed at the Scottish Rites Center, Allentown.
She also taught during the summer camp program at Muhlenburg College, Allentown and was associated with DeSalles University in Center Valley.
Survivors; two sons, Christopher and Nathaniel Metz, both of Weissport, mother, Marion Straub of Weissport, three sisters, Marion Bonser of Lehighton, Mary Ruth, wife of Larry Lacy of Allentown, Sally Jane, wife of Clarence (Bobby) Getz of Franklin Township; a brother, Kennneth W. Straub III, many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and many many friends and acquaintances.
Services: A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20 at St. Peter's U.C.C. Church, 8142 Valley View Rd., Northampton, 18067. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be sent to her church.
Mays-Melber Funeral Home, 200 Franklin Street, Lehighton is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
