Perry G. Piper, 58, of 244 E. Holland St., Summit Hill, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at his residence.
Born in Sharon, Mercer County, he was a son of Earl Sweeney of Ohio; and the late Barbara Sweeney.
He worked for Labor Union 1174 in Allentown.
He served in the United States National Guard.
He was of the Protestant Faith.
Perry was an avid chess player and avid fisherman.
Surviving, along with his stepfather, are brothers, Earl Sweeney of Pittsburgh, and Darren Sweeney, and his wife Deborah, of Kentucky; a companion, Joan Smith of Summit Hill, and her daughter, Lori Claypoole, and her children, Daniel Gusick and Amber Lynn Claypoole; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Amanda Sweeney.
Service: Memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at 1 p.m. from the Thomas J. Parambo Funeral Home, 54 W. Fell St., Summit Hill. Calling hours are from noon to 1 p.m. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Online condolences may be signed at www.parambofh.com.
