Mrs. Rose M. Eick, 75, of Hometown, passed away Saturday, Feb. 1, in the St. Luke Hospital, Fountain Hill. She was the wife of James Eick. They were married for 57 years.
She was the owner of the Montgomery Ward catalog store in Hometown for 13 years.
She grew up in Bressler, Pa., and was a daughter of the late Rose C. Doncevic. Rose served with her husband in the Air Force for 17 years, receiving a special citation from President Richard Nixon.
She was an active member of her community, starting the Red Hat Society in Hometown, and served as Queen. She was a member of the Hometown Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Tamaqua Senior Club, McAdoo Senior Club and SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Tamaqua.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, George and Jim, and his companion, Diane Dunstan; four brothers, Robert, David, Thomas and Randolph Crone; and three sisters, Susan, Deborah and Nancy Crone.
