Stephen C. "Duke" Doncsecz, 88, of Lehigh Avenue, Palmerton, died Thursday morning, Sept. 27, in the Weatherwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Weatherly.
He was a crane operator for the former New Jersey Zinc Company, Palmerton, for 40 years before retiring in 1981.
Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Korpics) Doncsecz.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton.
A 1941 graduate of the Palmerton High School, he was a Navy veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater of Operations and participated in the Normandy Invasion, attaining the rank of private first class.Doncsecz enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Hungarian Club, Palmerton.
Surviving are a sister Cecilia, wife of Ted Yasson of Spotswood, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Yurchak; and two brothers, Francis and Joseph.
Service: Graveside service with military honors 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Arrangements by Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Ave., Palmerton.
