Thomas A. Papay, 67, of Lansford, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 11, in the St. Luke Hospice, Bethlehem, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Theresa (Mitchell) Papay. They were married for 43 years.
He was a son of the late Paul and Mary (Lazar) Papay.
He retired as a pipeline worker from Utility Line Services, Birdsboro.An an avid golfer and pool player, he belonged to the Mahoning Valley Country Club, Tamaqua River Valley Pool League, Palmerton Pool League, Jim Thorpe Pool League, the Beaver Run Rod and Gun Club and Lehigh Fire Co. No. 1.
- He was a graduate of Palmerton High School and the McCann School of Business.
Surviving in addition to his widow are two sons, Bryan of Kresgeville and Pat, and his wife, Marty, of Jacksonville, Fla.; three daughters, Serena,wife of Mark Camlin of West Lawn, Stacy, wife of Dave Kerstetter of Lake Hauto, and Dawn Frankenfield, and her fiancé, Bob Kopler, of Gurnee, Ill.; two brothers, Paul, and his wife, Carol, of Palmerton, and Joe, and his wife, Theresa, of Sun City West, Ariz.; two aunts, Pauline Harvan of Lansford and Agnes Magalla of Anchorage, Alaska; five grandchildren, Seth, Lauren, Kayla, Alyssa and Lexi; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Service: Funeral service 4 p.m. Friday, March 15, Holmes-Griffiths Funeral Home, 655 E. Broad St. Tamaqua, with the Rev. Kenneth Medve officiating. Interment at convenience of family.
