Walter J. O'Donnell Sr., 73, of Arlington Street, Tamaqua, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at home. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth (Barron) O'Donnell, on Nov. 2, 2007.
He was employed by Curtis J. Bailey for 40-plus years as a finish carpenter, retiring in 2004.
He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Tamaqua.
He was a graduate of Nesquehoning High School and Stevens Trade School.
He was a model train enthusiast and also enjoyed playing golf. He was an avid bowler who participated in many leagues and the annual National Tournament bowl.
Surviving are a daughter, Sandy L. Dustan, Tamaqua; and a son, Walter J. O'Donnell Jr. and his wife Diane, New Ringgold; five grandchildren, Kayla, Sarah, E.J., Matthew, and Ryan and his wife, Courtney; and three great-grand-children, Carter, Colby and Brinley.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Brian Scott.
