Doris Marie Hungate-Jones|
Doris Marie Hungate-Jones, 66, of First Avenue, Nesquehoning, formerly of West Philadelphia and Upper Darby, passed away Friday, in her home, following a lengthy illness. She was the widow of James J. Jones, who died in November of 2013.
Prior to retiring, she had been employed as a horticulturist at the Elwyn Institute in Elwyn.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Harry C. and Nancy (Chalus) Hungate.
Surviving are two daughters, Ann Marie, wife of Martin Carberry of Wrightsville, and Christine Sanchez of Nesquehoning; five grandchidren, Shane and Sarah Carberry and Andrew, Kevin and Christopher Jones; and two brothers, Kenneth and Carl Hungate.
She was also preceded in death by a son, James C. Jones, who died in 1996.
Services: Graveside, 11 a.m., Saturday, Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke's Hospice, 1510 Valley Center Parkway, Suite 200, Bethlehem, PA 18017. Arrangements by the Jane Clifford Ritz Funeral Home, Mahanoy City.
