Lester W. Wentz Jr.|
Lester W. Wentz Jr., 66, of 177 Jefferson St., Franklin Township, passed away Sunday, March 16, in his residence. He was the husband of Kathleen A. (Miller) Wentz. They were married for 46 years on June 3, 2013.
Prior to retiring, he was a sales representative for Nabisco for 20 years.
He and his wife also owned the former Walck's Restaurant, Parryville, for seven years, and he was also a part-time farmer for over 20 years.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of Lester W. Wentz Sr. of Lehighton and the late Davene R. (Rickert) Wentz.
He was of the Christian faith.
Wentz was a member of F. & A.M. Lodge No. 621, Lehighton, and a life member of the Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Co.
He was a supporter of the Carbon County 4-H Livestock Club, and was involved with various township and agricultural organizations.
In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a daughter, Kelly L., wife of Richard Hook of Lehighton; a son, Cory M., and his wife, Kimberly, of Palmerton; a sister, Louise H., wife of Greg Sander of Lehighton; three grandchildren, Cora, Gunner and & Alyssa Wentz; a stepgrandson, Ian Hook; his father's companion, Jean D. Fisher; and nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Gerald M., who died in 2005.
Service: Celebration of Life gathering 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, March 22, Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Co., 259 Lime St., Bowmanstown. Interment, private. Arrangements by Andrew P.
