Howard M. Sittler|
Howard M. Sittler, 80, of Fairyland Rd., Franklin Township, passed into eternal rest on Saturday, April 12, in his residence. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth A. (Brose) Sittler, who passed away on March 2, 1995.
Prior to retiring in 1991, he was employed by the Mack Truck Corporation as a master mechanic for 30 years.
Born in Union Hill, he was a son of the late William and Anna Mae (Kunkle) Sittler.
He served our country with the Navy Air Force during the Korean War, having attained the rank of Airman 3rd Class.
He was a very active member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Lehighton.
Sittler held memberships at the Lehighton American Legion Post 314 and the Vietnam Last Man's Club, Hughesville.
In his spare time, he loved to hunt, fish and volunteer for Meals on Wheels in the Lehighton area.
Surviving are two sons, Curtis L., and his wife, Lisa, of Sewickley, and Todd of Pearland, Texas.; a brother Doug of Union Hill; and two granddaughters, Lauren and Kaitlyn Sittler.
He was also predeceased by a brother Robert; and a sister, Jean Frable.
