Geraldine E. "Jeanne" Facini
Geraldine E. "Jeanne" Facini, 89, of Drums and formerly of MaryD, Tamaqua and Sheppton, died April in Drums. She was the widow of Adolph "Duffy" Facini, who died April 12, 2005.
Prior to retiring, she had been employed in the local garment industry in Tamaqua and Tuscarora. She had also worked for the MaryD Water Authority and served as assistant post master at the MaryD Post Office.
Born in the New England Valley, Walker Township, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Rose (Bryant) Houser.
She was a member of the River Mountain Church, Sheppton.
A 1942 graduate of Tamaqua High School, she was former secretary and treasurer of the ladies auxiliary of the MaryD Fire Company; loved baking cakes; and was an avid gardener.
Surviving are two daughters, Barbara, wife of James Folweiler of Mary D and Patricia, wife of Ronald Kaschak of Sheppton, with whom she resided for 12 years; four grandchildren, Jeanine Singley, Stephanie Speck, Jennifer Betz and Brianna Boyce; and three great grandchildren, Justine Beltz, Derek Singley and Lucas Betz.
She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kimberly Ann Folweiler; a brother, William Houser; and a sister, Ruth Schaeffer.
Service: 11 a.m., Thursday, Zizelmann-Roche Funeral Home, 500 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, with Pastor Thomas Sappie officiating. Interment, St. Bartholomew's Cemetery, Brockton.
