Mrs. Linda L. Kunkle, 66, of Vine Street, Lehighton, Franklin Township, died Wednesday morning, April 23, in the Blue Mountain health System's Gnaden Huetten Memorial Campus, Lehighton. She was the widow of Quinton C. Kunkle and Walter W. Beltz.
She was a secretary for the Balliet Insurance Company, Lehighton, and previously had worked in the same capacity for Schleicher's Home Sales, East Penn Township.
Born in Lehighton, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Semmel and Elma (Beers) Semmel-Gerhard.
She attended the Church of the Brethern, Long Run.
Mrs. Kunkle volunteered for the Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary and at the Carbon County Fair.
Surviving are three daughters, Wanda A. Herring, Diane M., wife of Barry Berger, and Tanaya L., wife of Larry Strohl, all of Lehighton; five stepdaughters, Christine, wife of Duane Lilly of Lehighton, Kathy, wife of Robert Murphy, and Coleen, wife of James McCauley, both of Jim Thorpe, Michelle, wife of David Stermer of Summit Hill, and Sharon Walck of Coaldale; three stepsons, Edward Kunkle, and his wife, June, and Jeffrey Kunkle, both of Lehighton, and Richard Kunkle, and his wife, Cheryl, of Allentown; four grandchildren, Kayla, Ashley, Rebecca and Kyle; two great-grandsons and many stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren; four sisters, Joyce, wife of Herman Silfies, and Eleanor, wife of George Szacska, both of Lehighton, Hope, wife of Paul Muffley of Palmerton, and Peggy, wife of Allen Smith of West Bowmans; two brothers, Gerald Everett, and his wife, Pat, of Jim Thorpe, and David Everett, and his wife, Marnie, of Slatington; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a stepson, Dennis Kunkle, who died in 1987.
