John F. Meyer|
John F. Meyer, 87, of Kunkletown, passed away Sunday, April 27, in the VNA Hospice House, East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of the late Betty L. (Lines) Meyer.
Born in Rahway, N.J., he was a son of late Fredrick and Ida (Lefeber) Meyer.
He had belonged to the Pocono Evangelical Church, Tannersville.
John graduated from the Philadelphia School of Bible (Cairn University). He had worked as a missionary for 45 years before retiring in 1993.
Surviving two sons, John, and his wife, Libby, of Maiden, N.C., and Jim, and his wife, Kathy, of Bangor; three sisters, MaryBeth, wife of Gary Kirschman of Indianapolis, Ind., Rebekah, wife of Harold Porterfield in Turkey, and Deborah, wife of Randy Sheagley of Saylorsburg; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Hildegard; and two brothers, Heinz and Rudy.
Service: Funeral service 1 p.m. Saturday, May 3, Calvary Bible Church, Whitehouse Station, N.J. (www.calvarybiblechurchnj.org), with the Dr. Rev. Jim Meyer officiating. Interment, Readington Reformed Church Cemetery, Readington, N.J. Call 7-9 p.m. Friday, Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Rt. 209, Brodheadsville, and 12:30-1 p.m. Saturday in the church.
