Ronald C. Fogel
Ronald C. Fogel, 70, of Lehighton, died Monday, May 5, in the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton. He was the husband of Shirley A. (Strohl) Fogel. They were married for 32 years last Dec. 24.
Prior to retiring, he was employed by Dent Manufacturing, Northampton, where he worked in the Forge Department.
Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Claude and Alice (Haydt) Fogel.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
Fogel was a life member of Lehigh Fire Co. No. 1, Lehighton, where he worked as a bartender, and a member of American Legion Post 314, Lehighton.
He loved to watch the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies and rooted for No. 3 Earnhardt and No. 24 Gordon on the NASCAR circuit.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a son Brian, and his companion, Anella; a daughter, Kathy Cymes of Tamaqua; two stepdaughters, Melinda, wife of Scott Young, and Adele, wife of Randy Gombert; a stepson, Brian Strohl, and his wife, Gloria, of Lehighton; three sisters, Joanne, wife of Robert Merkel of Lehighton, and Delores "Dee-Dee," wife of LaMar Semmel, and Shirley Smith, both in Florida; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was also predeceased by a sister, Lois Gildner.
Service: Private funeral services and interment at convenience of family. Arrangements by Andrew P. Ovsak Funeral Home, Fourth and Iron streets, Lehighton.
