Mrs. H. Florence "Toots" Labyak, 93, of Golf Road, Tamaqua, died Wednesday, June 4, in the Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mahoning Township. She was the widow of Joseph A. Labyak, who passed April 18, 2012.
She had worked for Bell Telephone for 45 years.
Born in Tamaqua, she was a daughter of the late Matthew and Ida Mae (Burton) Lutz.
She was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Tamaqua.
The deceased was a 1939 graduate of Tamaqua High School.
She enjoyed gardening and the beach, and was an avid Eagles fan.
Surviving are a sister, Helen Bartel of Temple, Berks County; and three nieces, Rosemary L. Farber of Macungie and Nancy M. Willing and Helene Smith-Marx, both of Tamaqua.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Herman F. and Matthew L.; and three sisters, Jean Starr, Mary Lutz, and Dolly Yost.
Service: Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Saturday, June 7, St. Jerome Catholic Church, Tamaqua. Interment, parish cemetery, Tamaqua. Call 8:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday, E.
