Mildred Ann Keefer
Mildred Ann Keefer, 82, of Hunter Lane, New Ringgold, died Saturday, June 14, 2014, in her home. She was the widow of Robert Keefer, who died in 1997.
Prior to retiring, she had been a real estate agent and appraiser, working for Charlotte Solt Realty in Tamaqua and Kaplan Real Estate in Pine Grove.
Born in New York City, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Martin and Anna (Svetlik) Rihacek.
She was a member of St. Jerome's Catholic Church, Tamaqua.
A 1949 graduate of Tamaqua High School, she was a former treasurer for Schuylkill Habitat for Humanity and enjoyed traveling, gardening, and photography.
Surviving are five daughters, Patricia, wife of Larry Glogg of New Ringgold, Michelle Keefer Parmenter and her husband, Herbert, of Emmaus, Anne, wife of Donald Groff of New Ringgold, Jeanmarie Brayford of Frackville, and Jennifer, wife of Stephen Strouse of New Ringgold; two sons, Daniel Keefer and his wife, Wanda, and Christopher Keefer, and his wife, Rita, all of New Ringgold; a sister, Blanche Tobias of Schuylkill Haven; grandchildren, Melanie Runkle, Luke, Pam and Vikki Glogg, Kati, Jon and Shayne Groff, Brianne and Tyson Keefer, Matthew and Christine Keefer, Alissa Wagner, Abbie and Jake Strouse; great-grandchildren, McKenna and Noah Runkle and Danya Carter.
She was also preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Adalie Wagner; and son-in-law, Patrick Brayford.
Service: Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m., St. Jerome Catholic Church, Tamaqua. Interment, parish cemetery, Tamaqua. Call 6-8 p.m. Thursday or 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday, Zizelmann-Roche Funeral Home, 500 E. Broad St., Tamaqua.
