Obituary Condolences

Mrs. Barbara
Cox Black
Mrs. Barbara "Bobbie" Cox Black, 75, passed away Monday, June 16, in the Mountain City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Hazleton. She was the widow of John Harrison Black.
A native of Johnson City, Tenn., she lived the last years of her life in Pa. The first two years were spent with her daughter and son-in-law in Jim Thorpe. Due to medical reasons, she then resided at the Mountain City Nursing Home.
The nurses and staff treated her like a "princess," and became part of our family. Words cannot say enough.
Barbara's employment was in the medical field. She was a CNA, and also worked as a ward clerk at Mary Immaculate Hospital, Newport News, Va.
Barbara enjoyed the 4 Cs: cokes, cigarettes, country music and casinos.
She was an avid reader and loved her "Law and Order."
The deceased was a daughter of the late Claude and Retha Marie (Vines) Barnnett.
Surviving are two sons Larry "Dave" Cox and John E. Black, and his wife, Rowenda, of Appalachia, Va.; three daughters, Becky, wife of Louie Hall of Jim Thorpe, Susan, wife of Gene Love of Newport News, and Sonia, wife of Jim Rogers of Kingston, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Meghan and Emily Love, Michael Robinson, Chris Hall, Missy Schlecter, Eddie Graham, Kim Townsend and Kyle Rogers.
She was lucky to have loads of grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She will be missed.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Tribble and Sharon Owens.
Service: Funeral services will be private. Arrangements by David J. Stianche Funeral Home, 123 Center St., Jim Thorpe. Online condolences can be offered at www.stianchefh.com or Becky.Hall1958@yahoo.com.
