Mrs. Beatrice B. Turner
Mrs. Beatrice B. Turner, 87, of Lehighton, formerly of Tequesta, Fla., and Brawley, Calif., died Tuesday evening, July 1, in the Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mahoning Township. She was the widow of James Turner.
Before relocating to Lehighton, she was an office manager for the Maranatha Baptist Church, Jupiter, Fla.
Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Marie (Schwartz) Belgrash.
She attended SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Lehighton.
The deceased enjoyed traveling and, over the years, visited just about every continent. She also volunteered as a coach and judge for the Miss California Pageant.
Surviving are a sister, Jeanette Slaw of Lehighton; two nieces, Robin and Jennifer; and three nephews, Robert, Christopher and Timothy.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Maria Swengel; and a nephew, William Swengel.
Service: Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Monday, July 7, SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Lehighton, with the Rev. Michael Ahrensfield officiating. Interment, parish cemetery, Lehighton. Call 9:30-10 a.m. Monday in the church. Contributions in her name may be made to the memorial fund of the church, 260 N. Third St., Lehighton, Pa. 18235.
