Donald D. Mullins|
Donald D. Mullins, 85, of Fullerton, formerly of Lehighton, passed away peacefully Saturday morning July 12, 2014, at home surrounded by his loving and devoted family. He was the husband of Kathleen E. (Schaffer) Mullins for 65 years.
He worked for Exide Willard Battery in Allentown for over 30 years, retiring in 1989; and also for the Acme stores of Whitehall in the frozen food section for many years.
He was born in Jefferson City, Missouri, to the late Roy Lee and Anah Elizabeth (VanGundy) Mullins.
A member of St John's UCC Fullerton, Donald honorably served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. during the Berlin airlift of World War II.
A lifetime member and former firefighter for Fullerton Fire Co. No. 1, Donald was active earlier in life with Boy Scout Troop 63 at the church.
Surviving with his wife, Kathleen, is a daughter, Colleen M. Chryst of Fullerton; a son Richard D. Mullins, and his wife Barbara, of Sneads Ferry, N.C.; grandchildren Abby, Allyson, Jennifer, and John; three great-grandchildren; a brother Claude, and his wife Patricia, of Alabama; and a sister Wilma Keister of California.
Services: Private. The Gilbert Funeral Home of Whitehall is honored to handle his arrangements.
