Mrs. Edna M. Tyahla|
Mrs. Edna M. Tyahla, 96, of Lower Towmensing Township, passed away on Monday, Aug. 25, in the Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mahoning Township. She was the widow of Michael Tyahla, who passed away in 1994.
Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Grant George.A past master of the former Towamensing Grange, she was also active in the Towamensing Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and the Kunkletown Senior Citizens Club.
- She was a homemaker and a skilled seamstress who truly loved farming and the outdoors.
Edna loved to play pinochle and bingo competitively.
She was a member of Jerusalem United Church of Christ, Trachsville, where for many years she helped in the kitchen.
Surviving are two daughters, Orpha, wife of Miles Shaffer, and MaryAnn, wife of John M. Haupt, and a son, Billy Bollinger, all of Lehighton; three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. She was also predeceased by her first husband, Harold Bollinger.
