Elwood E. "Jack" Krum, 66, formerly of Birch Drive, Lehighton, Franklin Township, died suddenly on Tuesday, Sept. 13, in the Chong Hua Hospital, Cebu City, the Philippines.

He was a salesman for Star Pontiac, Easton, for several years, and previously served for over 20 years in the Army, retiring as a sergeant first class in 2009.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of Elwood J. Krum of Lake Wallenpaupack, Pike County, and the late Marjorie (Serfass) Krum.
A 1963 graduate of Fort Hamilton high School, Brooklyn, N.Y., he received a bachelor of arts degree from Charminade College, Honolulu, Hawaii, and a master of arts degree from Central Michigan High School, Mt. Pleasant, Mich.
He served part of his Army career during the Vietnam War and Persian Gulf eras.
He was a member of American Legion Post 314, Lehighton, and the Hungarian Club, Palmerton.
Surviving in addition to his father are his stepmother, Margaret (Seila) Krum; two daughters, Sherry Eck of Palmerton and Terri B., wife of David, with whom he resided; a son Timothy of Union City, Ohio; a sister Sharon, wife of Nick Rago of New Providence, N.J.; a brother, John Prowell in New Jersey; seven grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, a niece and a nephew.
Service: Memorial service with military honors 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Ave., Palmerton, with the Rev. James D. Anderman officiating.
