Constantino E. Muniz, 81, of Columbia Avenue, Palmerton, died Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 5, in the St. Peter University Hospital, New Brunswick, N.J. |
He was a history and sociology teacher at the J.P. Stephens High School, Edison, N.J., for 30 years before retiring in 1996.Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Constantino and Emily (Lucero) Muniz.
- He was the husband of the late Mary A. (Hadinger) Muniz, who died last March.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton.
A graduate of the Palmerton High School, he was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, having served as a QM 2C.
He also graduated from the Kutztown State Teachers College.
Surviving are two daughters, Michele M., wife of David Dafgek of Simsbury, Conn., and Connie L., wife of Scott Maynard of Monroe Township, N.J.; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Matthew, Dylan, Samuel, Molly, Anna and Jenna; two sisters, Dolly Rabenold of Palmerton and Rosalie, wife of Daniel Breslin of Shamokin; and two brothers, Manuel, and his wife, Pat, of Palmerton, and Raymond, and his wife, Terry, of Orefield.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence and Richard.
Service: Memorial Mass 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton, with the Rev. James J. Ward officiating, assisted by Deacon William P. Pitts.
