Christopher L. Martonyak|
Christopher L. Martonyak, 52, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest on Friday, Sept. 27, in the Blue Mountain Health System's Palmerton Campus. He was the husband of Rosemarie (Sparich) Martonyak. They celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary in May.
He was an assembly line worker for KME Kovatch, Nesquehoning, for 30 years.
Born in Gettysburg, he was a son of Sharon (Kennedy) Martonyak Hoffman and the late Joseph B. Martonyak, who passed away in 1999, and a stepson of Wilmer Hoffman of Lehighton.
He was of the Catholic faith.
Chris was a self-taught, lifelong musician who has touched the lives of many musicians. He was a member of numerous bands, including Amber, Room with a View, Starfire, Not Quite Rite, Craven Moore, Bounty Hunter and, most recently, Shades of Grey, where he was a guitarist and vocalist.
His family, friends and fellow music lovers will truly miss Chris and his passion and dedication to his music that was evident every time he entertained.
Surviving in addition to his widow and mother are two sons, Jason and Joshua, both of Nesquehoning; three sisters, Shelley Johnson of Summit Hill and Julie, wife of Neal Hoffman, and Jodi, wife of Michael Davis, both of Nesquehoning; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Samuel and Josephine Sparich of Nesquehoning; four sisters-in-law, Simone, wife of Tim Zuber, Mary Jo, wife of Ryan Eidle, Jaime, wife of Jeff Lazar, and Samara, and her companion, James; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Jr., who passed away in 1978.
Service: Funeral service 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home, 81 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning. Private interment at convenience of family. Call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
