Paul Serfass Obituary

Paul D. Serfass
Paul D. Serfass, 91, of 376 Wagner St., Franklin Township, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 30, in the Weston Senior Living, Brodheadsville. He was the husband of the late Grace M. (Schaeffer) Serfass, who passed away April 25, 2013. He and his wife were married on Dec. 31, 1957.
Prior to retiring, he was a union carpenter for Local 600, Lehigh Valley, for over 50 years.
Born in Walcksville, Franklin Township, he was a son of the late William and Beulah (Serfass) Walck.
He served our country with the U.S. Army Air Force's 807th Base Unit during the European, African and Middle Eastern campaigns, attaining the rank of PFC.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Big Creek, and the Lehighton Lions Club, where he served as the Tail Twister.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener.
Surviving are a daughter, Cara Lynn Serfass of Franklin Township; a brother Carl Serfass of Palmyra, Pa.; and nieces and nephews.
He was also predeceased by a brother Kenneth; and four sisters, Anna Moulthrop, Bessie Beers, Edith Solt and Florence Heine.
Service: Graveside service noon Friday, Oct. 2, Franklin Heights Memorial Park, E. Weissport, with the Rev. Kenneth B. Ogden officiating, followed by full military honors under the direction of the Lehighton Area UVO. Arrangements by Ovsak Funeral Home, Fourth and Iron streets, Lehighton. Contributions in his name may be made to a charity of choice. Online condolences can be offered at www.ovsakfh.com.
