PATTON, Dorothy Edna "Dotty" (Hollon)* - Dayton  
News Death Notice PATTON (Hollon), Dorothy Edna "Dotty" 91, of Dayton, Ohio passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Grace Brethren Village in Englewood, Ohio. She was born August 27, 1923 in Middletown, Ohio. A graduate of Middletown High School, she was a tutor and a Member of the National Honor Society, winning prizes in Art and French. She worked at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base from 1942 to 1949. She worked for the Dayton Board of Education from 1961 to 1981. She was the first secretary for the Head Start program, and a school secretary at Residence Park and Loos Elementary Schools. She was preceded in death by her parents, William R. and Ella Hollon; husband, Charles Richard Patton; daughter, Sandra Lee "Sandy" Patton; sister, Marie Parrella; brother, William Hollon; nephew, Teddy Parrella and best friend, Elinor Patton Amidon. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara "Bobbie" Patton Martin; son-in-law, Thomas O. Martin; granddaughter, Colleen Elizabeth Patton Martin; sister, Hazel Brill; nieces, Teresa DiCristoforo, Blanche Bailey, Lou Ann Kerry and Beverly Gardner; as well as nephews, Jack Parrella, Alan Brill, Bill and Greg Hollon. The family extends its appreciation to the staff of Grace Brethren Village. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Shiloh Church-United Church of Christ. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home, 5555 Philadelphia Dr., at N. Main St., Dayton, OH 45415. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. News Death Notice PARKER, Kathryn Marie Age 87, of Seven Mile, Ohio passed away on Thursday January 22, 2015, at 5:32 p.m. at Tri-County Extended Care Center. She was born on January 16, 1928 in Seven Mile, Ohio the daughter of Cleveland and Myrtle (Batcher) Jones. She graduated from Seven Mile High School in 1946. On August 30, 1947 she married Arnold Dexter Parker and he preceded her in death on May 12, 2002. She is survived by her son Terry (Janice) Parker; three grandchildren, Ryan D. Parker, Rebecca L. Parker and Rachel A. Parker; two great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Evan; sister, Louise Jones; also many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Dorothy Roll; two brothers, Walter Jones and Charles Batcher. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Paul R. Young Funeral Home, 3950 Pleasant Ave., Hamilton. Burial in Rose Hill Burial Park. PROBST, Mildred L. (Millie)* - Hamilton  
News Death Notice PROBST, Mildred L. "Millie" Age 95, died Wednesday, January 21, 2015 in Berkeley Square. She was born in Hamilton on May 17, 1919, the daughter of Edward and Dora (McVicker) Thome. She married John E. Probst in 1942 and he preceded her in death in August of 1976. Mildred was a graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Hamilton, Ohio in 1940 and she worked as an RN at various hospitals. She was a life-time member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Darrtown, Ohio and was honored on May 15, 2005 for 25 years of service as the treasurer of the church. She is survived by her brother, George (Faye) W. Thome, Darrtown and nieces Linda (Mark) Habel, Hamilton, Lisa (Dan) Niehaus, West Chester, Judy Mannix, Maineville and Gretchen (Nigel Tashley) Probst, Dayton, nephews, Alan (Tammy) Thome, Oxford and Edward (Sharon) Probst, Dayton; eight great nieces and nephews and seven great, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Alford and her husband. She was a Triad member from 1997-2004, obtained her amateur radio license on March 20, 1955, a member of the YWCA board for many years and in 1993 she was awarded the "Outstanding Women of Achievement Award". She was a member of the Cincinnati Weaver's Guild, she won many awards at the Senior Olympics for swimming, was a member and National President of Kappa Delta Phi sorority. In the early 1960's she started the "Palette Club", she loved her flower garden, deer, bird watching and her pet dachshund "Zucker". Funeral services will be held Monday, January 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 4411 Hamilton Richmond Road, Darrtown, with Pastor Betsy Williams officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be Monday morning at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 4411 Hamilton Richmond Road, Oxford, Ohio 45056 or Hospice of Cincinnati, 1010 Eaton Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio 45013. PERKINS, Marilyn* - Oxford  
News Death Notice PERKINS, Marilyn Age 79, of Oxford, passed away Wednesday evening, January 21, 2015 at her home. She was born July 19, 1935 in Covington, KY, the daughter of Clara (Ross) and Ned Thompson. Marilyn was a 1953 graduate of McGuffey High School. She was one of the first managers of Shillito's department store in Oxford, worked as a seamstress, making drapes and re-upholstery work for the Oxford Decorating Center. She was co-owner of the Apple Tree Needleworks store. She also served as a docent for the McGuffey Museum. Marilyn was a faithful and active charter member of Faith Lutheran Church. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Edwin and John Thompson; and her husband of 39 years, William H. Perkins. She is survived by her sons, David (Debbi) Perkins and his children, Andrew and Heather; John (Kimberly) and their daughter Mary; daughter Shirley (Ed) Wasser and children, Alexander (Aileen), Amanda and Michael; and sister Nancy (Alan) Bartels. A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church, 420 S. Campus Ave., Oxford. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Faith Lutheran Church. News Death Notice PARSLEY, Robert Lee Age 56 of Overpeck, passed away at Mercy Hospital on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 7:45 PM. Bob was born in Hamilton on July 14, 1958, the son of Robert S. and Priscilla (Robinson) Parsley. He was a 1976 graduate of New Miami High School. He was employed as a millwright general foreman for Graycor after retiring from AK Steel. Bob was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and the Miami Valley Woodcarvers Association. On April 7, 1978 in Hamilton he married Betty Cameron. He is survived by his wife, Betty Ann Parsley of Overpeck; one son, Ryan Michael (Jennifer) Parsley; one granddaughter, Adelaide Parsley; his father, Robert S. Parsley; Bobby (Sherry) Cameron, Connie (Tony) Webb, Lee Cameron, Ronald Fallert, Joyce Vaughn, Betty Anglin (Jack) Ledbetter, Minnie (Daniel) Adamson; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Priscilla Parsley; John Martin; father-in-law, Lloyd Cameron, Robin Fallert, and Ricky Cameron. Graveside service will be held at Hickory Flat Cemetery on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 2:00 PM.
