MAXWELL, Ada Grace "A demure flower with a magnificent bloom," Ada Grace Maxwell, (nee Sprang), resident of Fairfield, Ohio, passed away Sunday October 6, 2013, in her home at the age of 88. She was born February 17, 1925 in Shreve, Ohio to the late Harold and Nattie Sprang. She attended the Olivet Academy and Miami University where she earned a Bachelorette degree in 1979. Ada's favorite color was red and her favorite song was Alley Cat by Bent Fabric and his piano. Ada was formerly a member of The Harmonettes and The Kolping Saengerchor where she enjoyed singing. She always loved music, playing her piano, and birds. She retired from the Butler county School Systems special education department. Ada is survived by her husband, James Rankin Maxwell, whom she married March 12, 1949, and is affectionately known to him as "my little wifey." Ada is also survived by her children; Steven Douglas (Debbie) Maxwell, Rebecca Sue (Gary) Thomas and Vonda Rose (Greg) Newsome, her brother Lester Sprang; her sister Naomi Marshall as well as 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and her beloved pets Kokie Poo and Maksi Bleu. Ada was preceded in death by her son James Byron Maxwell and her brothers Milo Sprang and Dwight Sprang. Visitation will be 10am to 1pm Saturday October 12, 2013 at the Ivey Funeral Home at Rose Hill Burial Park, 2565 Princeton Rd. Fairfield Twp. Ohio with a special time to share and celebrate Ada's life at 12:30 Saturday during the gathering.
