ROWLAND, Jr., Earl L. 60, of Swanton, OH, died April 17, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was born May 23, 1953 in Hamilton, OH to Earl L. and Virginia (Ashcraft) Rowland, Sr. Earl served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years and was honorably discharged in 1975. Earl earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Troy State University in Troy, AL and his Masters of Business Administration degree from The University of Toledo. He worked at Owens Corning in various capacities for 28 years. He then worked at Sampco in Pittsfield, MA for 18 months. For the past several years he has been a house husband and father making the most of his time with his family. He married Martie (Grandowicz) Koziarski on September 7, 1995 in St. Lucia. They enjoyed many tropical vacations together. Their life was made complete when they traveled to Russia in December 2001 to adopt their two children. Earl enjoyed watching his son, Nicholas, play baseball and football, listening to him play the trumpet and teaching him the ropes of life on the farm. He enjoyed watching his daughter, Nadia, play softball, listening to her play the piano and especially teaching her his gourmet cooking skills. Survivors include his wife, Martie, son, Nicholas, daughter, Nadia, sister, Brenda (Gary) DeHart and nieces, Kim (Dave) Walsh and Amanda (Steve) Weatherford. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Earl's life will be Monday, April 21, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, Whitehouse Chapel, with Pastor Steve Weatherford officiating. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. The family suggests giving memorial contributions to the Toledo Area Humane Society. The family would like to thank St. Luke's Hospital ER and ICC doctors and staff for their special care of Earl, and a special thank you to Pam Righi for her support to the family, especially Earl's children during this difficult time.
