News Death Notice

CASSIDY, Jack age 73, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014 at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born April 2, 1941 in Middletown, OH to Cecil and Daisy (Noble) Cassidy. He worked for A K Steel for 31 years, retiring in 1998. He attended Astoria Road United Baptist Church and was a very active member of the following clubs, Masonic Lodge #159 of Camden, Masonic Chapter #32 and Council # 135 of Eaton, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, Shriners of Dayton, Preble "32" Club, Preble Co. Shrine Club, Trenton Moose Lodge #330 and the Kentucky Colonels. He loved and played blue grass music and he and his wife would travel in their camper to bluegrass festivals. Jack is survived by wife of 27 years, Linda (Shumate) Cassidy; children, Marla Messer of Middletown, OH, Dera Cassidy of Miamisburg, OH, Glen (Brenda) Lakins of Trenton and Eric Collins of Middletown, OH; grandchildren, Malynda Messer & Darien Collins; great grandson, Kaylen James; brother, Jess (Charlene) Cassidy of NC; sisters, Judy Sizemore and Sandy Stamper both of Middletown, OH; several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Bud Ratliff. He is preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life service will be on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Ken Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery.
