News Death Notice

LEVERETTE, Steven Anthony was born on February 10, 1951 in Hamilton, Ohio to the late John C. Leverette Jr and Rita Marie (Tullis) Leverette Duncan. He departed this life for eternal rest on February 4, 2014 at Tri-County Extended Care Center. Steven, better known as "Steve", graduated from Garfield High School, Hamilton Ohio in 1969. He attended Central State University majoring in History. While at Central State Steve was a "Shining Star" on the Football Team. Steve proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army from December 1, 1971- November 23, 1973. Steve attended The Military Police Academy. He received numerous commendations and notably the National Defense Service Medal 45 Caliber Expert M16 and the Sharpshooter M16. Steve was Honorably Discharged after serving two years, but a very important span of time in the History of the United States of America. Steve was employed by Armco Steel, later known as AK Steel for 31 years, retiring in 2000. By nature, Steve was a very intelligent man and was afforded many training opportunities and classes in Drafting & Blueprint Reading; Plumbing, Millwright, Electricity & Electronics, as well as taking Technical Support Training where he become Certified as an Electronics Troubleshooter. For fun, Steve also was a member of the Armco Softball Team. Steve was united in marriage to his childhood sweetheart Marva Manley on February 6, 1971 and this union was blessed with two wonderful children. Steve was a loyal and dedicated Husband, Father and Friend. He loved his family and was an example to them of a strong work ethic. He had many nicknames among family and friends: "Dad", "Pops", "Stevie", and "Kool-Aid Kid".
