Wilma D. ALBIN

News Death Notice

ALBIN, Wilma D. resident of Oxford since 1996, passed away on September 22, 2013 at the age of 100. Her home was in New Albany, Indiana, where she was a professional seamstress. Wilma received her training at the Mary Cummings Dress Making Company in Louisville and worked there from 1937-42. She was a lifetime member of the Altrusa Club, and a member of the Eastern Star. In 1985 she was nominated as Senior Queen representing four counties in Southern Indiana for that year's Indiana State Fair. The nomination was a result of her work in creating a widows support group that met monthly from 1977-96. She is survived by her son William Albin; daughter- in-law Debra Albin; granddaughters Kelly Wilson, Kristen Vajda, and Kim Gordon; and great-grandsons Ian Wilson and James Vajda, Jr. Donations can be made in her name to Faith Lutheran Church or a .
