News Death Notice

NEELEY, Myra Lee (nee: Smither) 73 of Lebanon, died Friday November 15, 2013 with her family by her side. Born to Wilbert and Agnes (nee: King) Smither on January 26, 1940 in Revelo, KY. Myra was a 1958 graduate of Lebanon High School and a member of Northside Baptist Church for more than 40 years. She was a loving and devoted wife to Norman until he passed away in 1988. Myra was a very supportive, encouraging and loving mom, who was so proud of her kids. She was also a very devoted and loving grandma,who encouraged her grand kids throughout their lives. She enjoyed planning family and church get-togethers, reading and many different types of crafts. Her life's passion was sharing the love of Jesus Christ with all those who crossed her path. She was very involved throughout her entire life with her church, where she inspired many to share in her love of missions and reaching out to others. She lived her faith out every day and was an inspiration to young and old over the years through the many bible studies, Sunday School classes and Vacation Bible School classes she taught. She was an amazing teacher, leader, and friend. Faith, family and friends were the core of her life. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert and Agnes Smither, and husband, Norman Neeley. Myra is survived by her daughter, Amy Conover of Lebanon, son, Steve (Kara) Neeley of Liberty Hill, TX, brother, Ronald (Brenda) Smither of Lebanon, eight grandchildren, Jenna, Travis, Brodi (Andrea), Colton, Tahlor, Caitlin, Garrett and Emma, one great-grandchild, Levi, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation was held on Monday November 18th from 6:00-8:00PM at Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home. A funeral service was then held on Tuesday November 19th at 10:00AM also at the funeral home. Interment took place in Lebanon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Myra Neeley's name to Northside Baptist Church/Lottie Moon Mission Offering.
