TICKEL, Nancy Boyd Nancy B. Tickel died on May 7, 2013 at St. Mary Hospital, Langhorne, PA surrounded by her loving family and friends. Nancy was born and raised on a dairy farm (Boyd's Creamery) in Cannonsville, NY). She was a graduate of Deposit Central High School in Deposit, NY, and Miami University in Oxford, OH. At Miami University she met her future husband, Middletown, Ohio native, Dave Tickel. Nancy and Dave have both been very active alumni supporters of Miami University of Ohio. Upon graduating from Miami, Nancy taught at Sherman Grade School, in Middletown, and later moved to Bucks County, PA, where she taught for 23 years. Nancy was a model teacher. Nancy always served the community in which she found herself. She brought boundless energy and enthusiasm to everything she did. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth A. and Leland B. Boyd, of Deposit, N.Y., by her sister Isabel Boyd Wagner of Cleveland, OH, and a brother, Berkley S. Boyd of Mclean, VA. She is survived by her loving husband, David C. Tickel of Langhorne, PA; a brother, attorney Robert A. Boyd of Binghamton, N.Y; a son, David L. Tickel of Morrisville and a daughter Ruth Anne Tickel/Logan and her husband David E. Logan of Yardley, PA who gave Nancy and Dave three beautiful granddaughters, Briana, Angeline and Haily Logan. She was adored by her grandchildren, as she adored them. Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of life service at United Christian Church at 8525 New Falls Road in Levittown, PA on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 3:00 PM. Ex-students and those inspired by Mrs. Tickel are asked to make themselves known to the Tickel family (215-757-4939).
