ARTHUR, Roger D. 102, of Lebanon, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014. Born September 30, 1911 in Columbus, OH to Clyde James and Mary A. (nee: Quill) Arthur He was a 1931 graduate of West Chester High School. After serving in the US Coast Guard, Roger worked for several car dealerships as a salesman, retiring from Lang Chevrolet in Xenia. A member of the Waynesville F & AM Lodge # 123, the York Rite in Lebanon and the Valley of the Scottish Rite in Dayton. He was a former member of the Lebanon Presbyterian Church. Preceded in death by his wife, Emily R. Arthur (nee Smart) three brothers, Walter, Paul C. and Kenneth R. and one sister, Willa Mae Jones. He is survived by several nieces and nephews and a foster son, Sydney Herbert. Visitation was held Wednesday February 19, 2014 from 10-11 AM at Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home, Lebanon, Ohio, with funeral service that immediately followed. Interment took place in Rose Hill Cemetery in Mason. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Cincinnati Burn Institute c/o Shriner's Hospital or Hospice of Dayton.
